GENERAL SURGERY: 'Songwriting For The Next Album Is Progressing Steadily'

March 12, 2008

Legendary Swedish grindcore merchants GENERAL SURGERY have issued the following update:

"Songwriting for the next album is progressing steadily. We've got about half of the album written and rehearsed, and a few more songs that are still developing. Looking to write even more material during the spring, and hopefully we can hit the studio in the summertime.

"As for now, it's too early to say how the new album will sound, but so far the new songs leans a bit more towards the classic Swedish death metal sound than pure grindcore. Maybe that will change as we progress with more new songs, we'll just have to wait and see!"

GENERAL SURGERY last year parted ways with singer Grant McWilliams and replaced him with Erik Sahlström (MAZE OF TORMENT, SERPENT OBSCENE).

GENERAL SURGERY's first full-length album, "Left Hand Pathology", was released in May 2006 via Listenable Records.
